Enhanced EPR directed and Imaging guided photothermal therapy using vitamin E modified toco-photoxil

This is a original research article related to the development of biodegradable photothermal (light to heat) agent for treatment of cancer. It’s a gold nanoparticles coated PLGA (biodegradable polymer) nanoshells. The layer of gold nanoparticles is comprised of 2-3 nanometer small gold particles which easily get cleared from the body. While the PLGA is a biodegradable polymer which degrades into the lactic and glycolic acid which are absorbed in the body metabolism.

This paper was published in the Scientific Reports 2018. The first-author of the paper is Dr. Deepak S. Chauhan (email: dpk.iitb@gmail.co; twitter: @dpk_iitb).

Whatever goes inside the body, should be cleared out for the successful translation of nanoforumulation.
